A night filled with laughter, friends and paintings of shoes, Rotaract hosted its first Art Night. Led by local artist Maria Garces, students were inspired by the works of renown artist Van Gogh to create an impressionist rendering of the shoe that they decided to wear that night. All of the proceeds from the event will go towards Rotaract's second international service project in Costa Rica as the group will team up with the Club Rotaract Escazú to help them tackle poverty and need in their community. Thank you to everyone who helped put this event together, and to the many students who came out to support us!
During our next meeting on December 6th, we'll be having our second toy drive for the kids of Our Kids of Miami-Dade/Monroe, Inc. If you can, please bring a wrapped toy (no toy guns please).
The mission of Our Kids is to oversee and lead a coordinated system of care delivering excellence to abused, abandoned and neglected children and their families in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties.
THANK YOU! <3
We're so excited to go back to Manor Oaks Nursing & Rehabilitation Centerthis Saturday to spend some time with the residents. This project holds a very special place in our hearts because it was our first project when our club started in June 2015.
Please let us know if you want to join us! #ServiceAboveSelf #Rotaractions#RotaractFamily
We invite you to break away from your typical Friday night with the perfect snack, art and conversation! We're calling this event: Rota-Art! Artist Maria Garces Luzuriaga will lead the class and we'll provide all the supplies you need! Our guests will spend two hours creating a one-of-a-kind painting and laughing with friends.
At Rota-Art, fun is the only requirement. All proceeds will go towards our international service project in Costa Rica! #RotaractFundraiser#Rotaractions #RotaArt

What to Bring:
Ocean trash is a serious pollution problem that affects the health of people, wildlife and local economies. Join the world’s largest volunteer effort for our ocean and waterways by participating in International Coastal Cleanup.
In 2015, more than 18 million pounds of trash was collected by nearly 800,000 volunteers during the International Coastal Cleanup. Here in Miami Dade, we collected 17,500 pounds of marine debris from 31 miles of coastline.
By volunteering at ICC, you will be actively participating in a global citizen science project, not only by removing marine debris, but by cataloguing and tallying what you find using the Ocean Conservancy’s data collection cards or Clean Swell App. The resulting item-by-item, location-by-location Ocean Trash Index that Ocean Conservancy compiles each year provides the only global snapshot of the marine debris littering coasts and waterways around the world.
This month we went camping at the beautiful Jonathan Dickinson State Park near Hobe Soud Beach, FL. Thanks to everyone that made it :) Despite the mosquites and the heat, we had a great time
Look at all the other things we have accomplished!
